The problem

Heat that doesn't leave at night

    In the Gulf, summer temperatures stay high from early morning to late evening. For dogs living in apartments, daily walks can't wait for cooler weather.

    Most cooling vests rely on water and evaporation. In humid air, moisture evaporates slowly and stays trapped in the fabric, so the vest can end up feeling warmer, not cooler.

    That is the climate of the Gulf, Hong Kong and Singapore. It is the climate we design for.

How it works

Cooling that doesn't need dry air

KŌRI TAIL vests cool with phase-change material (PCM): inserts that absorb heat as they melt at a set temperature, whatever the humidity around them.

PCM has limits, and we say so. Cooling lasts for a defined window, then the inserts need to be recharged somewhere cool before the next walk. We will publish how long that window is once our field tests are complete.

Tested before it is sold

    Reviewed by a veterinarian

    The concept is reviewed by our veterinary advisor for comfort, fit and safety before it goes any further.

    Competitors bought and measured

    We buy existing cooling vests and characterise them ourselves, in the same conditions, rather than quoting their packaging.

    Instrumented field tests in Dubai

    Skin-contact temperature under the vest against an uncovered area, thermal imaging, and real cooling duration, measured outdoors in the heat.

    A written specification before any order

    Materials, tolerances and acceptance tests are fixed in writing before manufacturing starts.

Our story

Born in Dubai

KŌRI TAIL was born from a simple problem we experienced while living in Dubai. During summer, temperatures remain extremely high, even early in the morning or late at night. Daily walks were unavoidable, and we never wanted the heat to put our dog at risk.

We searched for a cooling vest, but the ones we found relied on water and evaporation. In our climate, that moisture stayed trapped. Unable to find a solution suited to where we live, we decided to create one.

Kōri is Japanese for “ice”. Tail is a nod to the dogs it was made for.
